Creamy Hass Avocado Frosting

Deliciously rich and sweet like a traditional buttercream frosting, but without the butter! The pretty green color comes naturally from the Hass Avocado, so there’s no need to add artificial food coloring.

Ingredients:
  • 1 ripe, Fresh Hass Avocado, peeled and seeded
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 lb. powdered sugar, sifted
  • Water, as needed
Instructions:
  1. Place avocado, lemon juice and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer or medium mixing bowl. Mix on medium-high speed for about 3 minutes, or until the avocado is smooth and creamy.
  2. Mix in the powdered sugar a little at a time until it is in all incorporated. Beat on high speed until light and creamy.
  3. If the frosting is too thick add in water a few drops at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Use immediately or store in refrigerator with surface covered by plastic wrap until ready to use.
Serving Suggestions:
Use to frost cakes, cupcakes, cookies or brownies.
 
* Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
